The Empire of the Holy Spirit of Charity, built in 1941 at Largo das Figueiras do Paim, in the parish of Santa Cruz, Praia da Vitória, celebrates its festival in honor of the Divine Holy Spirit on the last Sunday of September. The event includes a procession to the parish church of Santa Cruz, followed by a festive mass with coronation. After the ceremony, blessed bread and wine are distributed at the empire. The festival continues until the following Thursday, with various cultural activities, and usually ends with a bullfight on the following Saturday.
