Império do Espírito Santo da Ribeira Seca

The Império da Ribeira Seca de Cima, is located in the parish of Vila de São Sebastião, municipality of Angra do Heroísmo, located in Largo Gaspar Ribeiro (Ribeira Seca).

This property was built in the second quarter of the 19th century, in 1889, and celebrates the feast of the Divine Holy Spirit, on Pentecost and Trinity Sundays. On the eight Sundays after Easter, the cult of the Divine Holy Spirit is celebrated, highlighting the two Sundays of Pentecost and Trinity, 1st and 2nd Bodos.

In recent times, it has sometimes happened that there are not enough promises to cover the eight Sundays, so that on some of them the party does not take place. On Bodo Sundays, processions from the houses of the emperors to the Church are celebrated, where the Solemn Masses of Coronation are celebrated, after which the procession returns to the Empire, where the crowns and flags are placed and then the bread is blessed. and wine that are distributed by the people present.

In the afternoon, on the days of the bodos, there is an arraial, with varied snacks, sovada pasta and wine that are served to visitors and auctions are made in favor of the Empire. On Pentecost Sunday, at the end of the festival, the prizes for the following year are drawn.
