The Império of São Pedro, a centenary building located at Largo Dr. Teotónio Machado Pires, in the parish of Biscoitos, Praia da Vitória, annually celebrates the Feast of the Divine Holy Spirit on Pentecost and Trinity Sundays. Its festivities include the preparation and distribution of delicacies such as “molho de bofes,” religious processions, festive masses, as well as lunches called “função” and festivals with philharmonic concerts and auctions to raise funds. The celebrations culminate with the appointment of stewards and the distribution of bread and wine to the houses of the brothers on the Mondays of Pentecost and Trinity.
